Is It a Bird? Is It a Plane? It’s the iPhone5! (Feature List)

To say that the iPhone has changed our perception of a mobile phone is an understatement. Since it’s first release in 2007 the iPhone has been an instant success and year after year Apple have successfully dished out a new model jam packed with all the features you can possibly imagine in a mobile phone.

So here we are once again, barely getting over the latest release with the iPhone 4S in October and already rumours are flying all over the place about the new iPhone 5 set to be released sometime in 2012.

Here’s a short list of possible features listed by Techradar and Ubergizmo that can be included in the new release:

Updated firmware and hardware with the new iOS6 and a quad core processor.

8MP camera or 13MP camera with HDR video capabilities.

Wireless charging capabilities ?!! (this I would love to see).

NFC Payments – your digital wallet.

Micro HDMI output.

Thunderbolt port.

Nowadays technology has allowed mobile phones to include camera and video capture, GPS, bar code scanning, WIFI all supported by a multitude of apps.

Apple however always seem to be ahead of the game when it comes to mobile phone features, as we can see from this short history:

2007 – iPhone 2 or iPhone EDGE with EDGE capabilities.

2008 – iPhone 3G with 3G and assisted GPS.

2009 – iPhone 3Gs included a 3 mega pixel camera and voice controls.

2010 – iPhone 4 included a minor set back with the antenna placement and featured an internal camera and HD video.

2011 – iPhone 4s came with Siri their voice recognition software. Set to make your life easier or incredibly frustrating.

2012 – iPhone 5 ?
