The same is done for the Android application by the means of a status bar notification. The app also provides link to U-M’s social media channels.

“M.D.Stat+ provides a quick and convenient way for our applicants to stay current on not only their status with us — which we know they may be very anxious about — but also on our overall admissions process. It’s simply a mobile-friendly way for them to view a subset of information that’s been available for many years through our secondary application web site,” explains Robert F. Ruiz, director of admissions at the University of Michigan Medical School. The app is developed by the admissions office of the medical school in alliance with its offices of Enabling Technologies, Applications Development, and Marketing. The office also connects with existing and probable students through various mediums like web-based status pages, e-newsletters, text messaging, social media and on-line chats.

The M.D.Stat+ app can be downloaded free of cost from the iTunes App Store or Android Market. along with the app, a similar smartphone-friendly website umms.med.umich.edu/mdstat/ is also introduced.
