Is iPhone 5 Worth Waiting for?

UPDATE: The release of iPhone 4S on October 4 gives us even more reasons to wait for the iPhone 5. However, there is no iPhone 5 so far. Till then, bask in the terrific features that are a part of iPhone 4S. Listed below are features that were expected to be in iPhone 5, but are now, present in iPhone 4S.

You type ‘iPhone’ on Google, and you generate about 2,200,000,000 results in just 0.14 seconds (I just typed it, don’t argue). More than 70 countries of the world became a part of this smartphone bandwagon. Thousands of companies launched its lookalikes – most of which actually worked in favor of them. Once upon a time, there was iPhone. Then came iPhone 2G, followed by iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, and then, you couldn’t get your eyes off iPhone 4G. It really wouldn’t be wrong to call it the best Internet phone that comes with a traffic reporter, a weather forecaster, RSS reader, and a light sensor in a mystifying multi-touch screen that’s everything for the user (it’s a mouse, it’s a keypad, it’s a notepad, or a joystick… who knows?). The developers of the iPhone had much bigger plans for this beautiful gadget, and photos, videos, songs, et al, were just the beginning. The App store by Apple is no less than a wicked fun pocket computer giving you away, in just a few megabytes, world’s largest repository of words, an entire library of books, a rock band in 3D, and well, Angry Birds. Calling the iPhone just a phone would be such a disgrace.

Today, if you’re struggling to figure out whether or not is the iPhone 5, after Lady Gaga’s new album, the most-awaited release of the year, then I must say, I’m disappointed. I can’t believe you said that. What I can do, however, is give you a few reasons to hang on to your hat, while Apple smoothes the way to the iPhone 5G’s release. Just a read through the following words, and you’ll stop asking Google whether or not should you wait for the fifth generation iPhone to release.

Reasons to Wait for iPhone 5

You know, there’s so much buzz about the iPhone 5 release date and specifications that’s zooming all over the tech-market that no one is really interested in the basics. Yes, iPhone 5G will be sleeker. Why? Because it has happened with every installment of iPhone. And yes. It will be shockproof and scratch proof. iOS 5, dual camera… wait, dual enhanced camera, wireless syncing with iTunes, more carriers other than AT&T, and yes. The iPhone 5G might come in white too. But then, there are a lot many features of iPhone, that you might not be aware of, and therefore, let’s check out the driving factors in iPhone 5G that make it immensely anticipated.

LTE Support

So, you think iPhone 4G is the buzzing gadget till date, huh? Let me tell you that the biggest reason to wait for the iPhone 5G is its ability to support LTE. Now, those who’re clueless about LTE must know that it is a technology that takes mobile communications network to another level by supporting 100 Mbit/s downstream speed, and 50 Mbit/s speed upstream. If iPhone 5 comes with LTE support, this is a reason enough to grab the gadget without any ado.

FaceTime

It’s a killer feature that every iPhone user will thank the Apple developers for, even though ninety percent of the iPhone users have never even tried FaceTime in their life. The ability of making video phone calls is a feature hugely anticipated and because iPhone 5 is rumored to have a larger screen this time, even with the same body size, FaceTime is likely to give iPhone users something that none of its predecessors had – video phone calls.

Near-Field Communication

If they enable this feature in the iPhone 5G, believe me, having an iPhone would soon turn into a compulsion, at least in the US. NFC would be the most attractive feather on the iPhone’s hat, considering the ability of this feature to communicate with other devices. How? Think of a day you went for shopping, and bought stuff for more than a thousand dollars. Oops… you forgot your wallet at home! Now, if you have the iPhone 5 in hand, just wave it in front of a device that recognizes NFC. Well, there you’re done with your shopping! Dear credit and debit cards, sorry to hear about NFC. Sincerely, iPhone 5.

Even though the iPhone 5 is just a flicker in the future, and Apple hasn’t yet set a release date for this phenomenal gadget, it will be worth the wait, or so the mind-boggling rumors make it. Doesn’t matter if some of the rumors aren’t true. Doesn’t matter if the real iPhone 5G turns out to be something else at its release. What matters is, how much does it make you salivate, considering the back-fence blabbers that make it a must-have this year. Come on, try hanging on to your busted, old phone for a few months more. If you crave for the hottest technology, the iPhone 5 is going to be right here. Well, it’s worth the wait.
