One Apple employee claims we are about two weeks away from the release of the iPhone 5, but Apple sticks with their official policy about new products and states, “What iPhone 5?” It is very odd for any Apple employee to come forward and say they are going to release the phone to the public, and it could simply be a marketing ploy.
Never before has Apple allowed so many “accidents” and “rumors” before the release of a big product. They may be trying to create hype around the iPhone 5, but this would not be a good move if it ends up being the release of the iPhone 4S first. This may only be a version of the iPhone 4 to hold over customers until the iPhone 5 is actually released.
Supposedly a week from now, somewhere around October 10th, Apple is going to announce a media event and send out press invites. Then, at this event, which will probably be held on a Tuesday or Wednesday, they will announce and release images of the new phone. This does not mean it will be available for purchase yet, but one would thing if this is true it will soon hit the market.
Usually Apple announces the release of a new product about 15 to 20 days before it is available for purchase. This means if they do announce it around October 17th we may see the new iPhone 5 come out right before Thanksgiving. Hmmmm…..that might just make sense because it perfectly fit into the busiest shopping day of the year, Black Friday (the Friday after Thanksgiving).
However, this is saying the iPhone 5 is actually going to be released. Tim Cook (CEO of Apple) has actually spoken recently about an iPhone 4S, but this could just be a publicity stunt to allow Apple to make the release of the iPhone 5 even more spectacular. As long as there are no visible issues at the release it should go very smoothly.

However, if you look at more trusted sources like Analyst Keith Bachman of BMO Capital Markets and Chris Whitmore, a Deutsche Bank analyst, you will find that it may not be released until mid-2012. So, when will the iPhone 5 be released, really?
Since the iPhone 4S has recently been announced chances are it will be the middle of 2012 before we see a real iPhone 5. However, this could all be a marketing move by Apple or maybe they are not ready to release the iPhone 5 due to the technology not being right just yet. The other possibility is they want to give Apple lovers the chance to buy two new phones in the next year and make more money.
It looks like Apple is going to use the iPhone 4S to help them catch up to the competing Android phones. They are going to include the iOS 5 and many other features to finally compete with the more advanced Android phones. However, this may just give the Android phones a better chance to catch up since we still don’t know the answer to, when will the iPhone 5 be released?
