Abvio Brings Automatic Stop Detection and Calendar Sharing to iPhone Fitness Apps Runmeter, Cyclemeter & Walkmeter

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 7, 2010

iPhone fitness application developer Abvio LLC announced that version 4.1 of Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter is now available on iTunes, with major new feature additions that customers have frequently requested: Automatic Stop Detection and Calendar Sharing.

Automatic Stop Detection senses when movement stops and attributes time automatically to stopped time, so elapsed time and other statistics are measured only when you are moving. Elapsed time will continue to increase until the stop is detected, and then will roll back to when the stop started.

Calendar Sharing was added to make it easier for users to share workouts with friends, family, coaches and personal trainers. This new feature synchronizes workouts to the iPhone Calendar when a workout is completed or edited. The iPhone Calendar may be shared with iCal or Outlook, and with external calendars, such as Google Calendar or Microsoft Exchange. Personal trainers will appreciate the ability to use a shared calendar to assign specific workouts, and in that same calendar, see how much was accomplished.

Calendar sharing takes advantage of a recent Apple innovation in iOS 4 called Event Kit. Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter have leveraged iOS 4’s multitasking capabilities since IOS 4 was released in June.

“We get creative feature requests from customers on a daily basis but none was more frequently requested than Automatic Stop Detection,” said Kevin Wallace, co-founder of Abvio. “This feature brings more accuracy and convenience to our iPhone fitness apps and sets the bar higher for our competitors. Our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers, and to fitness, has never wavered, and both the Calendar Sharing and Automatic Stop Detection features are indicative of our dedication to innovation in mobile fitness.”

Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter are the first iPhone apps to incorporate text-to-speech technology so users can hear replies to their workout-related status updates from their Twitter and Facebook communities. Spoken replies from friends, family, and coaches encourage and motivate users to go farther, faster and be healthier.

Runmeter, Cyclemeter and Walkmeter 4.1 are entirely iPhone-centric, require no web site login or monthly subscription and are completely ad-free. All three apps are available now on the Apple iTunes App Store (iTunes link for $4.99 (US).
