Liam Gallagher: Accessories had to happen

Thursday Oct 13 2011

Liam Gallagher insists adding accessories to his fashion label was a “natural progression.”

The British musician-turned-designer launched his menswear clothing line Pretty Green in 2009 which was inspired by the Mod style of the Sixties era.

He has since launched an accompanying line of accessories, which the star says was an inevitable process.

“It’s a natural progression for any clothing label to have accessories,” he explained to vogue.co.uk. “I do a lot of travelling, these pieces are essential to my every day needs when away from home.”

The accessories collection features a range of items, including holdalls, passport holders, wallets and iPhone cases.

They came in a mix of print including vintage paisley and brown checks. Liam is proud of the line and has revealed his best-loved item.

“My favourite piece is the weekend holdall,” he said.

Liam has previously spoken about the type of people he hopes his Pretty Green line will attract. The former Oasis frontman insisted his signature shabby style is worn in a deliberately trendy way.

“Not a lot of people look cool these days, like my cool,” he explained. “Everybody plays it down, don’t they?

“I don’t want just anybody wearing it. and people go, ‘Oh, beggars can’t be choosers.’ well, I ain’t a beggar, you know what I mean?”
