Two New iPhones?

Reports (most likely rumors) coming in from AppleNApps suggest that whenever the iPhone 5 event takes place, there will be another phone released along side it, the ‘iCloud Phone.’ It will run iOS 5 and work hand in hand with iCloud. AppleNApps suggests that the iCloud Phone is the main reason that the iPhone 5 release has been delayed.

The phone will be much cheaper and have typically less flash storage and lower spec. It will rely heavily on iCloud storage creating a whole new aspect to smartphones. The ‘iCloud Phone’ will be available, according to rumours, for free on a two-year contract.

Apple is reportedly reducing the cost of making the phone down to $400 to allow consumers a cheaper alternative to the iPhone 5. They will also reduce costs by introducing a cheaper aluminum case which still provides the same durability.

It will really be a cheaper iPhone 4 rather than a whole new phone.

The highly anticipated iPhone 5 will release with it and is expected to run the newly announced iOS 5, which brings with it notifications and voice control. It will also feature a possible curved back going back to the iPhone 3G that we saw a couple years ago. It may well support 1080p HD display as well as video capture seeing as the Samsung Galaxy SII has been a great success with its great display.

The A5 dual-core ARM processor from the iPad 2 is extremely likely to be included as well. A new antenna, 1.2GHz processor (possibly dual-core) and a larger screen: 3.7" instead of 3.5" are all the spec upgrades we might expect. We can ask for 4.0" screen and most likely we will get it. Seeing other rivals going over 4.0", Apple will not want to be left behind.

Would you buy a cloud-based iPhone or prefer the iPhone 5?

It is a very strategic game in the form of an open plan selection styled menu where you can do everything from customizing your line up, to changing player salaries, to even negotiating budgets with your chairman: Football manager is a must have for football enthusiasts. The only bad thing about this app is that it will set you back Ò£6.99/ $9.99 but trust me, it is worth every penny.

#2 – Tiny Wings

Tiny Wings is a game that very much resembles iCopter. It uses touch control to determine the height of your bird and the aim of the game is to ‘ride’ the slopes as far as you can before sunset. This game is seriously addictive and can be played literally hundreds of time. You can never get tired of this light-hearted simple bird game available for Ò£0.69/ $0.99 on the app store.

#1 – Kairosoft Games

First and foremost, I would to explain to you that Kairosoft is not the name of an iPhone game, but an iPhone game company which specializes in being the best. Their games include Mega Mall Story, Pocket Academy, Hot Springs Story, Game Dev Story and Grand Prix Story. At first sight, these games seem like boring, arcade-styled, Japanese games that you would normally find at a nerd convention but DON’T BE FOOLED. These game are extremely fun and extremely addictive! I was up all night playing one of these games and before I knew it, it was 4’oclock in the morning! These games are very similar to each other in the way they are set out and their menu options but the format and choice you get in each game is completely different. These games are choice games were you can build and make your own mall, grand prix team, school/ college, spa resort and game development company. There are endless possibilities and choices to choose from and this is by far the best game I have ever played in my life. Most if their game are around Ò£2.49/ $3.99 each which is cheap for a game as good as this. Each game normally has a Free Lite Version of the game so you can try it out and if you don’t like it, you don’t have to buy it. Newton’s Head: New Site Makes It Ultra-Easy to Sell an iPhone

AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–From iPhones to iPads, a new site offers owners of Apple products an instantaneous way to sell their old items.

“There’s tremendous demand from AT&T users willing to pay a penalty fee to make the switch to Verizon”

Newton’s Head has launched and offers owners a simple, three-step process to unload their unneeded items – and receive a timely, top-dollar payment. The Austin-based company has been in testing-mode for the past six months and is officially launching the site www.NewtonsHead.com this week in light of Verizon’s new agreement with Apple to sell iPhones.

“There’s tremendous demand from AT&T users willing to pay a penalty fee to make the switch to Verizon,” said Cater Joseph, owner and founder of NewtonsHead.com.

Joseph notes because AT&T and Verizon iPhones operate on different network technologies, namely GSM and CDMA respectively, clients can’t use their same phone with the competing service providers. Reports indicate Verizon has experienced record-breaking sales of iPhones and will start selling them in stores on February 10.

“Our message is simple: don’t let your old iPhone sit in your sock drawer, and whatever you do, don’t throw it away. Instead, sell it to us for top-market value,” Joseph said, noting the company is currently paying up to $463 for an iPhone 4 and up to $186 for the popular iPhone 3G.

Step one is to enter the information about your Apple product, including type and condition. An automated pricing engine generates a figure the site will pay. If you agree to the price, accept it and the site generates a pre-paid shipping label. Put the product in a box and the shipping label on the outside, mail it, and within 24 hours of verifying the merchandise, Newton’s Head pays you by check or PayPal. Eco-conscious consumers will be happy to know Newton’s Head refurbishes and resells the products, or if they are beyond repair, recycles the components.

About Newton’s Head:

Newton’s Head buys, recycles and repairs Apple Inc. products. Created by the ultimate Apple fan, it is the ultimate source for Apple lovers to receive top-dollar for their unwanted products. Visit www.NewtonsHead.com for more information.

Top free android apps for the myTouch 3G

Google’s Android operating system for smartphones is quickly becoming a rival to Apple’s iPhone. T-Mobile was the first service provider to adopt the OS with the G1, and now the new myTouch 3G phone promises to draw even more users to the Android OS. One of the best features of Android is that it is open source and provides an easy SDK (system development kit) for programmers. The Android Market allow one to download the latest Apps to extend the capabilities of the phone.

The standard software and features that come with the phone will allow you to accomplish most tasks. You have a full web browser, email, a camera, a video recorder, notepad and full QWERTY keyboard, GPS, and quick access to Google search and Google Maps. But sometimes you need software that is not included with the phone, and the G1 Market has tons of free software to meet most of your needs.

Qik

If you have never seen Qik before, it’s time you check it out. Qik allows you to broadcast live video directly from your G1 to the web. Go to qik and set up a free account, then download the Qik client and start broadcasting from your cell phone.

AK Notepad

This notepad application is far better than the standard that comes with the G1. AK Notepad has a reminder feature which allows you to set an alarm for a text file to remind you to update it. It also gives you the option of sending your text files through email, SMS, or other applications such as a Twitter client you may have installed. You can change the appearance through themes and adjust the text size. AK Notepad also lets you put a sticky shortcut to a text file on your home screen.

wpToGo

wpToGo is a free WordPress client that allows you to post, edit posts, and attach photos and videos from your phone.

AP Mobile

AP Mobile is a client that gives you the latest headlines from the AP and can be customized to also include local news sources.

Listen

Listen is a Google app that allows you to subscribe to podcasts and have them automatically downloaded to your phone.

Twidroid

This is by far my most favorite Twitter client for the G1. It has a nice user interface and gives you quick access to your profile, your favorites, mentions, and direct messages.

Voice Recorder

Seemingly a simple voice recorder, the option that sets this one apart is the ability to email your recorded voice memo immediately. Once you’re done recording, this app gives you the option to title and send the recording right away, or to save it for later.

DroidTracker

Best iPhone 4 cases to solve your reception problems

With the flurry of bad press and a highly anticipated release date for the new iphone 4, you would think that no one wanted one anymore which couldn’t be further from the truth. As the new device continues to keep people on priority lists around the world, manufacturers have not slowed the ever increasing volume of cases for iphone 4 in as many varieties and styles as there were for previous models of iphone.

While Apple continues to only sell the protective bumper for the phone, there are dozens of options on line from hard cases and skins to leather covers and carrying pouches. When deciding which would be the best iphone 4 case to purchase for your phone there are few things to keep in mind. The purpose of the case for most people is mainly to stop the phone from being scratched or damaged in some way.

With that in mind a variety of the thin silicon skins produced that simply stretch onto the phone. While easy and cheaper than other options, these products tend to do more harm than good. Silicon is sensitive to changes in temperature and it can become sticky. When particles of dirt or foreign objects from your pocket get in between the case and phone, the device gets scratched. If you can’t live without it, one of the silicon best iphone 4 cases is the MiVizu iphone 4 G skin which is made of a much thicker silicon than other models.

It features access to all buttons and ports as well as camera and flash. The skin is compatible with iphone 4 16GB and 32GB models. The case also comes with a 90 day warranty and retails for about 12 to 15 dollars online. Silicon is great and cheap but a major drawback is that you can hardly get your device out of your packet with one on. If you are in the market for a hard case, Speck is a name you should look closely at. The company has made cases for previous iphone models and it features a line of hard shell iphone 4 cases that are rubberized on the inside and hard plastic on the out. The bonus is that they are no where near as thick as other hard plastic coverings.

For the iphone 4G, the Speck DH hard shell case is a stylish, protective and easy to use case. It won’t hold onto fabric like silicon does so it’s still easy to slip your phone in and out of your jean pocket. It runs a bit more than MiVizu at 24.99 online.

How to Avoid Common Problems with the iPhone 4S's Siri Voice Controls

Flora - iPhone 4S Macro Lens

The most heavily advertised feature of the iPhone 4S is undoubtedly its Siri voice controls. According to dozens of Apple ads, you can use Siri to tell your phone to look up directions, write text messages or handle dozens of other functions.

Unfortunately, Siri is far from perfect. Don’t get me wrong, it’s clearly an improvement over the basic voice controls of the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3GS, but controlling Siri is often difficult. Here are some tips for making sure that Siri understands you.

Understand The Basic Commands. Siri works better if you know the terms that it understands. Telling Siri to “find” something will usually result in a Google Maps search, while using words like “How many” will lead to a Wolfram Alpha search. You can also use Siri to turn alarms on and off, but you can’t use it to control third-party apps. As you use your iPhone 4S, you’ll get a better understanding of Siri’s capabilities, but you’ll have a better chance of getting a fast result if you start your sentence with the right words.

Make Sure You’ve Got An Internet Connection. Siri will use an Internet service to figure out what you’re saying. It will work the best if you keep a steady connection and if you close any apps that might be using your phone’s Internet connection at the same time. If you frequently talk into Siri only to get a “Sorry, I can’t take requests right now” response, you’ve probably got some programs open that are taking priority over Siri. Close them by double-clicking the home button and holding your finger over one of the app icons, then hit the little red minus song to exit apps.

Use The Suggestions. If you’re using the iPhone 4S’s voice commands to write an email or a text message, remember that the phone will highlight words that it isn’t sure about. You can tap on these words to see a list of similar-sounding words. This can help you avoid a bunch of unnecessary typing.

Watch The Ambient Noise. You have to speak really clearly to make sure that Siri gets what you’re saying, but even if you’re enunciating perfectly, you might have trouble if you’re holding your phone a few feet away from your head and there’s music playing or a heavy wind. Remember that you can always cut out ambient noise by holding your phone to your head, which automatically brings up Siri (unless you’ve disabled this in the iPhone’s settings menu).

Have any other tips for using Siri? Post below.

Upgraded iPad 2 launch in Spring 2012, iPad 3 launch Fall 2012

The Apple iPad may be heading towards the same type of release pattern as the iPhone has seen in the last couple years. Digitimes reports that rather than seeing a new iPad 3 in the Spring of 2012, we should see a slightly upgraded iPad 2. The upgraded iPad 2 (still unnamed) should feature improvements to the hardware and possibly new software features as well. Like the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 3GS, the body for the iPad 2 (iPad 2S) will remain the same, but have upgraded peripherals within.

The ‘Real’ iPad 3 should make it’s debut later in the year sometime during the Fall 2012, where it is expected we will see ‘major’ improvements to the screen resolution which have never been manufactured previously. Samsung, LG and Sharp are all manufacturers involved in making the new screens for the iPad 3 which are rumored to carry 2048×1536 resolution. One main reason for pushing the iPad 3 to Fall 2012 are the rumored production issues by LG and Samsung.
