IPhone 5 Leaked Accidentally (or on Purpose?)

Here’s something new – oh wait, no it isn’t. Leaked photos of up-and-coming hot products are nothing new. In fact, it happens all the time. Movies are leaked on the Internet before they are released. That bit of that one awful Stephanie Meyer book was leaked. It happens all the time.

Pictures of the new iPhone have supposedly surfaced now, approximately one month before Apple’s supposed release of the product. (Maybe they just want product attention when they release it? Or am I speaking in conspiracy theories here?)

Supposedly, somehow several (yes, several) iPhone repairs and parts companies now have it in their possession. (Wonder if Stevie knows about all this. Actually, wonder if Stevie put ’em all up to this.) But hey, it’s got to be better than leaving an iPhone 5 prototype drunkenly in a bar, right?

According to the techies, this chassis that was supposedly left at one bar and is now in the hands of several repair companies looks remarkably similar to an iPhone 4 but isn’t quite the same (a la new model, anyone?).

The theories abound, but two popular speculations about the new iPhone 5 seem to think that something called an “antennaegate” problem has been fixed and that the iPhone 5 will somehow be available to Verizon customers. Again, the techies tell all and support theory number one while shooting theory number two down, saying that there appears to be a place for a SIM card.

More info from the techies also reveals a theory about the two cameras (why does anyone need two cameras on a phone the size of a hand?), and they speculate that Apple has either done away with one camera – or that their technology is now so good that the camera needs less infrastructure (less infrastructure doesn’t mean invisible the last time I checked).

Also, apparently, if we have learned anything after last year’s leak of the iPhone 4 (what did I tell you? I swear it’s a marketing gimmick), then we should all know that Steve Jobs isn’t going to say one peep about this new iPhone 5 until he’s darn good and ready to. I guess we had all just better cross our fingers and hope he says something soon. I know how anticipatory we all are to have some light shed on yet another iPhone that looks “remarkably similar” to every other iPhone – ever.

How will we all ever survive without knowing for sure? Oh, the horror! Oh, please make it stop. Oh – you’re still reading? I’m sorry to keep you. I know it will be hard, but go try to enjoy your life without knowing for certain about the iPhone 5 for another month.
