Apple unveils iPad Mini and iPad4

In what is seemingly an unstoppable route to universal domination, the technology behemoths, “Apple Inc.” are once again in the news as they have announced an array of other consumer electronic gadgets that are guaranteed to appeal to techies and Apple enthusiasts alike. Earlier this week, Apple announced that they will be releasing both the “iPad Mini” and the “iPad 4” with the “Mini” seemingly destined to be a Christmas smash hit as it is set to be released in early November of 2012 according to a report from

“Computer Business Report Online”.

2012 has simply been a flawless year for Apple as far as market domination goes. The company has been all over the news all year round as their highly anticipated “iPhone 5” which was released earlier in 2012 become a global success. Now, the company, who is already well on its way to becoming the first ever trillion dollar organization, is once again set to dominate headlines leading into the Christmas season as the iPad mini hits the shelves on November 2nd, 2012, giving people enough time to surprise their loved ones with this genius piece of handheld technology.

The iPad Mini, as the name suggests, is quite simply a miniature version of the iPad. The device, which boasts a flawless camera and many of the same capabilities and features of the larger iPad, is simply designed to make the technology more portable for people who want to take it on the go. Just slip it in your pocket and take it out when on the bus, on the train or when you are just looking for an easy way to kill some time during your lunch break at work. The iPad Mini is expected to be between $299 and $330 dollars when it hits shelves early next month.

The upcoming iPad 4 however aims to be the most advanced modern computer technology out there. The device comes complete with “retina display” and an array of up-to-date, trend setting features that really do make the device the most awe inspiring piece of consumer technology on the market. The device, which comes just six months after the release of the iPad 3, is due to hit stores on November 2nd, 2012 with a price tag of $499, again, strategically right in time for Christmas.

Needless to say; with the upcoming releases of these two top of the range modern consumer electronics, not only does it look like Apple will dominate the Christmas sales this wintertime, but it also looks very unlikely that the technology behemoth’s hold on the electronics market will slip anytime in the near future.

The Apple iPhone 4S Supports The Useful iCloud Service

Unless you have been living on another planet for the last few months you will no doubt have heard about the release of the new iPhone 4S. Taking over from the iPhone 4, it unveiled a number of innovative new features from Apple, such as iCloud.

In this article I will take a look at the iCloud service and the benefits it brings to its users.

What Is iCloud?

iCloud is probably best described as a virtual hard drive which makes all of your content available on all of your Apple devices. Therefore this service is perfect for those who own more than one Apple device, such as an iPad, iMac, iPod Touch or MacBook.

How Does It Work?

To explain how iCloud works, I will walk you though and example. Let’s say that you download an album via iTunes on your iPhone 4S. It downloads straight to the phone, so you can listen to it on the phone instantly via the iPod function. However, it will also be instantly added to the iTunes library on your other Apple devices, so when you get home to your iPad or iMac, you will find the album in the iTunes library ready to play on this device also. This is a simple idea, but a very useful one.

Who Is iCloud For?

As mentioned, iCloud is for those who own an iPhone 4S as well as another compatible device such as a new generation iPod Touch, iPad or Apple computer. However it has more applications than music downloads. It is likely to prove invaluable for business users. Maybe you are working on a presentation or spreadsheet at home on your MacBook Pro. Then when you get to work, you will find it stored on your iMac or iPad 2, with all changes saved. Also, you may need to update your calendar or reminders by rescheduling a meeting on your iPhone 4S. The updates will be transferred to the calendar application on your other Apple devices, so it offers a new level of convenience. It also works for photos. Using the 8 megapixel camera on the iPhone 4S, you can take a photo or shoot a video, and it will be instantly stored on your iPad, iPod Touch or other Apple device.

iCloud is a typical of Apple doing what they do best. It is innovative, easy to use, and very useful. The appeal of the iCloud service is likely to reach many types of user thanks to its varied applications in the real world. When you sign up to iCloud you get 5 GB of storage, which can also be used to backup all of your data. Let’s say the worst should happen and you lose your iPhone 4S; all of its contents will be stored on another Apple device, so you can then reload it once you get a replacement handset.

The iPhone 4S is available now on major UK networks. Some of these offer the handset for free on selected tariffs, so there has never been a better time to take advantage of impressive features like iCloud.

T-Mobile Plans to Sell iPhone 5

Look who has jumped on the iPhone bandwagon! It is none other than T-Mobile. Starting April 12, T-Mobile will start selling iPhones that will offer cheaper and contract less data plans, as reported by T-Mobile authorities. This will result in making T-Mobile the first U.S network to offer iPhones with no contract.

The new plan from T-Mobile will allow the user to upgrade their phones whenever they want. Unlike AT&T and Verizon who ask their customers to take a 2 year contract for using iPhones on a contract basis, T-Mobile has gone 2 steps further it seems. T-Mobile authorities have said that starting April 12, the newly announced 4G LTE network will be available for their iPhone 5 at a meager down payment of $99, and the rest of the amount can be paid by the customer in $20 increments for the next 24 months.

Also, a WSJ article states that iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S will also be available. T-Mobile posted on their website on Monday about the data plans which in short go something like this:

1) Unlimited Talk and text messaging with 500Mb of data download for $50 a month for the first line.

2) Increase of $60 a month for 2Gb of data, or $70 a month for unlimited data usage.

T-Mobile also announced the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S4 and Blackberry Z10. Both are priced at $99. While Samsung Galaxy S4 is scheduled to arrive on May 1 , Blackberry Z10 has been launched. HTC One will also be priced at $99 and was told that it was “coming soon”.

There are various other agencies like phoneservices which are claiming to provide free phone services to major US territories and overseas with the participation with the help of government agencies, safelink wireless and budget mobile wireless. T-Mobile’s Chief Marketing Officer Mike Sievert said customers who want to leave T-Mobile can do so but they have to finish paying off or trade in the phone for a "fair market value credit."

Jane Lynch and Kassem G Spoof iPhone 4

Jane Lynch and Kassem G spoof the iPhone 4 in the style of the popular "Mac vs. PC" ads in this Electric Spoofaloo video. The actual Apple humor is pretty slim and predictable here, although the real highlight is clearly the brilliant Jane Lynch. She doesn’t deviate far from her typical comic persona, but given that her typical comic persona is absolutely hilarious, she’s always a pleasure to watch.

With the iPhone 4 coming out later this month, I can only assume we’re about to see a whole bunch of videos, both good and bad (mostly bad), in a similar vein. But since those videos won’t have Jane Lynch in them, I’m going to predict that this will remain a personal favorite.

Compare iPhone Deals Between Verizon and AT&T

No longer exclusive to AT&T, you are able to buy the iPhone 4 for Verizon. Learn about the deals that are being offered and how they compare to AT&T.

Verizon

iPhone enthusiasts who dislike AT&T rejoiced when it was announced that a Verizon iPhone would become available soon. That time is here; and so is the time to look at what Verizon iPhone deals are being offered. Many are speculating that AT&T iPhone users will flock to Verizon in droves, but will there be much incentive for them to jump ship? I put the time into researching the deals available so that you don’t have to. What I found was that Verizon has a few small perks it’s offering to try to entice iPhone users away from other carriers, but nothing shocking.

According to Verizon Wireless, iPhone 4 will be sold for $199. This deal is available for the 16 GB Verizon iPhone 4, but only to those signing on for a new 2 year activation and required data package. Verizon iPhone 4 full retail price is $649.99 for 16 GB or $749.99 for 32 GB.

$199 is a great price for new customers, but what about current Verizon customers that want to buy an iPhone 4? Verizon threw in a few iPhone deals to keep their current customers happy as well. Existing customers are able to use their "New Every Two" credit for the purchase of an iPhone, if they are eligible. Current Verizon customers that aren’t eligible for a phone upgrade may use Verizon’s Trade-In Program, where their current device may be traded in and the value applied toward a Verizon Wireless gift card.

If you bought a new phone during the holiday season and were angry when the Verizon iPhone 4 was announced, there is a deal for you too. If your smartphone, feature phone or certified pre-owned phone was purchased and activated between # and # you are eligible to receive up to $200 Visa debit card when you return your device to purchase an iPhone 4. The downside to that deal? You have to purchase the iPhone 4 at full retail price.

Verizon iPhone Plans

Thinking about making that switch to get iPhone for Verizon? You’ll need to know what iPhone plans are available on the Verizon Wireless network. Verizon reports that iPhone 4 activation requires a current Nationwide plan. All individual Nationwide plans come with unlimited in-network mobile to mobile and unlimited nights & weekends.

Individual Verizon iPhone Plans

450 Anytime Minutes for $39.99 per month. 900 Anytime Minutes + 5 Friends & Family numbers (out-of-network numbers) for $59.99 per month. Unlimited Calling for $69.99 per month.

Family Verizon iPhone Plans

700 Anytime Minutes for $69.99 per month. 1400 Anytime Minutes + 10 Friends & Family numbers (out-of-network numbers) for $89.99 per month. 2000 Anytime Minutes for + 10 Friends & Family numbers (out-of-network numbers) for $99.99 per month. Unlimited Calling for $119.99 per month.

Verizon iPhone Data Plans

For iPhone activation on the Verizon network, a purchase of the unlimited data package for Verizon iPhone is also required. Verizon’s iPhone data plan costs $29.99 per month (in addition to the cost of the Nationwide calling plan that you select). Not only is the unlimited data plan required, it is the only data package that Verizon has available for their iPhone 4. However, Verizon is currently reporting that the unlimited data package will only be available for a limited time. As long as you get the unlimited data package during the limited time that it is offered, it will remain available to you as long as you remain a customer of Verizon Wireless. Verizon is being vague about the implication behind their "limited time only" statement in regards to their iPhone data plan. Analysts are speculating that Verizon will go to tiered data plan options similar to AT&T’s iPhone data plans.

Verizon iPhone Plans vs. AT&T iPhone Plans

So now you know what Verizon iPhone plans will cost you. But how does it compare to AT&T iPhone plans? Turns out that both networks have the exact same pricing. There are only slight differences in their special offers. For example, AT&T offers rollover minutes for their plans, while Verizon does not. But Verizon has unlimited nights and weekends for their lowest Nationwide plan (450 minutes per month), while AT&T only gives the same plan 5000 night/weekend minutes.

The real difference between Verizon and AT&T iPhone pricing comes with their iPhone data plan pricing. Verizon has one data plan available for iPhone: unlimited data for $29.99 per month. AT&T no longer offers unlimited data for iPhone, but instead has tiered data plan options: $15 for 200 MB of data or $25 for 2 GB of data.

Your turn to weigh in. I’m interested to hear your thoughts. Do you think it’s worth it to switch to Verizon for iPhone? If you currently have an iPhone with AT&T, do you plan to switch to the Verizon iPhone? Why or why not? Comment and let me know.

How Can You Track Cell Phone Activity?

If you want to track cell phone activity of someone then there are a lot of software that you can download on the internet that are designed to meet your needs. Some software will send you an alert to your own mobile phone if there is a new phone call, e-mail or text message that was sent to the mobile phone being tracked. If you think that there might be a problem in tracking the phone because the owner of the mobile phone being diligent in deleting their text messages as well as their call history on a regular basis, then do not worry.

There are many ways how you can use software to track cell phone activity. First, there are two types of the most common. The first one is the kind of software that is installed to the phone. There will be a web page installed in the cell phone where you can edit or delete content. This is very helpful especially to parents that want to monitor the activity of their children in order to protect them from predators. The parents can also block or have password protection guarding the instant-messaging capabilities as well as the web browser activities on the cell phone of the child.

Next are websites online that can track the cell phone usage via a downloadable software that can be installed on the phone. It will then forward the information being gathered to your own user account online where you can review the information. When you visit the website, you will find that you can see both local and long distance calls that are made from that specific cell phone number. This is typically only one month’s worth of phone calls. You can also see the duration of each and every call. This includes the time and date that the call was made. When you use this kind of software, you will receive an e-mail within three days usually of added activity. Some offer other tracking, like GPS, email, chat, text, etc. and real time stats. The good thing about this is that the person whose cell phone you are trying to track remains clueless that it’s being tracked. You have to remember that this kind of service can sometimes cost a lot of money and can vary between what tracking options are available. But this will be cheaper and more affordable than hiring a private investigator to look into the activities of the person.

Although many cell phone plan carriers offer basic forms of tracking cell phone activity, it’s usually in the best interest of someone looking for more tracking capabilities to consider using third party software for more advanced options. There are many new mobile tracking software available that allow you to do even more advanced tracking and are extremely affordable compared to others with limited features.

The app itself is easy to navigate, perfect for those late night/early morning feeds when you’re working with sleep deprivation! Overall the best feed tracker available for new mums. The only half hearted criticism I can give is the inability to swap breasts during a feed.

Baby Monitor & Alarm

Baby Monitor & Alarm $2.99 (UK version £1.79) does exactly what it says on the tin and more. Firstly you set the sensitivity level, and from there you can choose a calling feature to call any number when the noise reaches the threshold chosen and you can just answer the call to check out if your baby needs you. On the other hand, if you’re trying to get your baby to sleep through you can choose the setting to automatically play a lullaby or a recording of your own voice to send your baby back off to sleep.

In addition, a feature which really makes this app unique in the baby monitor stakes is its ability to record all sound in your baby’s room for a set period which you can play back or send in an email. You can then look at all activity throughout the period in a log so you can get peace of mind that in your sleep deprived state you didn’t sleep through the baby crying!

Baby Tracker: Diapers

Baby Tracker: Diapers $0.99 (UK version £0.59) is another of those must have apps for new babies. Tracking the nappy habits of young babies is only something a parent could appreciate, and when you have a million other baby related things to worry about toilet habits may not be top of the list. But the baby tracker app makes this easy, at the tap of the screen you can select the type W is wet and BM is bowel movement and then the description and the information is put in a log for viewing any time. You’re able to edit changes easily and the app itself is very self explanatory. Very handy, especially for new parents.

Playing gentle music to relax your child to sleep, with images including falling snowflakes if you wanted to use them, the track keeps going until you manually stop it so you can relax knowing you won’t need to keep getting up if it stops. Don’t stop at night though, this app is great at keeping your little ones interested with the graphics and soothing music in the day as well, so if you’re out in the car and they get cranky just play this to keep them calm.

Do be aware that if your iPhone is on silent mode the sound will not play as with most apps!

Baby Flash Card
