SafetyGrid™ adds Monitored Personal Alarm Services to its iPhone and iPad Application

Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, SafetyGrid utilizes a Patent Pending enhanced alert messaging system that now includes Monitored Personal Alarm Services provided by GEOS Alliance.

The GEOS International Emergency Response Coordination Center (IERCC) is an integrated global system of best-of-breed services that encompass security, safety and reliable communication. GEOS has a communications center with 24-hour staffing with translators fluent in 150 languages, and direct connections to police and emergency services in nearly every country worldwide. Specialists in the fields of international, personal and corporate protection, communications, international Search and Rescue (SAR) and worldwide emergency response, GEOS provides a well-rounded balance to the SafetyGrid system.

Unlike other systems, SafetyGrid messages supports silent two-way alarm acknowledgment. the user is immediately aware of whether or not their request for help message was successfully sent, as well as if it was acknowledged by one of their contacts, as a visual icon in the app changes based on the state of their alarm. the silent alarm feature is a plus in the event of a kidnapping or other emergency where a discreet alarm is necessary.

Alarm messages are sent to the users chosen contacts via SMS text messaging and email, as well as by automated phone voice messaging. If the user subscribes to popular social media networks, requests for information from friends can also be sent. Information collected can then be shared with GEOS providing a real time information flow of intelligence. SafetyGrid also utilizes the GPS function of the iPhone or iPad, giving alarm recipients an approximate location of the person in need of assistance.

The GEOS Search and Rescue Benefit is included in the Monitoring Services and is , underwritten by the Lloyds of London the Benefit provides up to $100,000 per year to fund the cost of search and rescue operations for SafetyGrid members who enroll in this service.

Pricing starts at $9.99 per month for the GEOS Silver package subscription that covers one individual for up to $100,000 a year in search and rescues costs. For a one-time fee, there’s a $19.99 GEOS Adventurer package that provides coverage for one person for up to 30 days and up to $50,000 in search and rescue costs (great for travelers). Finally, the GEOS Gold package for $119 covers up to 4 family members including one SAR Benefit for up to $100,000 in search and rescue costs (2 x $50,000 per incident per year). Additional SAR Benefit members may be added to any package for between $13.95 (family members) and $17.95 (non family) per year.

SafetyGrid has also added the GEOS Medi-Vac™ plus program, which is a “Medical Evacuation and Repatriation” membership program. this single, life-saving source for medical evacuation and emergency assistance which will transport members to a hospital of choice near their home from anywhere in the world by private jet air ambulance.

All plans are activated over the Internet without the inconvenience of paperwork and coverage can be immediate or purchased for a future trip.

Through the end of August the SafetyGrid App is free and includes five full-featured non-monitored alarms, which can be used for testing or for actual emergencies. Additional alarm credits are also available for purchase, or the user may also continue to use the system without SMS / Voice at no additional charge. the system will send Alarm Notifications and Test Alarm Notifications via Email.

“We’re confident that the addition of the GEOS Search and Rescue and Medi-Vac service features make SafetyGrid the application of choice for students, travelers and individuals in all walks of life who value personal safety.” says Jim Hankins, developer and founder of SafetyGrid. “Including the offerings of GEOS, a company who has been credited for saving thousands of lives since it’s start of service in 2007, creates incredible value for our brand. we are fortunate to have the opportunity to provide these services to our clients, and look forward to offering additional life saving features moving forward.”

SafetyGrid is not meant to be a replacement for dialing 911 or contacting the local authorities in the event of an emergency. this is simply another mode of contact when dialing 911 and speaking into a phone is not an option or for when one is traveling overseas, where the emergency number isn’t known or where language is an issue.
