Another 15 Minutes of Fame for an iPad Case

Andy Warhol said that “In the future, everyone will be world famous for 15 minutes.” with its second line of iPhone, iPad and MacBook covers featuring Warhol artwork, the manufacturer Incase is apparently going for a half hour.

The first collection, released last April, featured five designs, including the screen print of a banana featured on the cover of the influential album “The Velvet Underground & Nico.”

This time around, the company, again with the assistance of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, has chosen five new designs for an iPhone hard case, and iPad jacket, 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pros, and the 11-inch MacBook Air, ranging in price from $40 to $80.

The current designs include a reproduction of a celebrity screen print of Elvis, a collage of black and white advertisements, paint-by-number flowers, a frame from “Empire,” the eight-hour silent movie of the Empire State building, and a drawing of an old candlestick phone.

The iPhone case is a hard plastic snap-on design. The MacBook sleeves meet TSA standards so the computer doesn’t have to be removed from the sleeve for airport security. and the iPad covers can also be used as a stand for the tablet.

If this round of cases is well received,  there may be two more Warhol collections.

Looks like Mr. Warhol was off by 45 minutes.
