How Does the iPhone Work?

As you may be aware, iPhone is a cellular phone created by Apple. the device combines an iPod music/video player, a cell phone, an internet web and email client, and a handheld application platform. the iPhone 3GS (2009) has up to 32 GB of storage space for music, movies, podcasts, and other applications. It is estimated that a 32 GB iPhone can hold around 6000 typical pop songs.

Part of the iPhone’s storage is used for the operating system and for optional third-party applications and so not all of this space is available to store songs and videos. the iPhone will serve as a camera phone, multimedia player and Internet service for those on the move.

After purchasing the iPhone, you should sign up for cell phone service with AT&T to activate the phone. the cell phone is capable of synchronization with a computer, enabling the user to quickly download contacts and calendars from Outlook onto the iPhone. the process is simple and immediate and can be done by plugging the re-charger cord – that comes with the phone – from the computer to the iPhone. the pop-up menus will guide the user to complete the process.

The iPhone is a rectangular shaped phone having a touch screen and camera lens. the outer edges contain the controls and plug receptacles. the receptacle for the re-charger is provided on the opposite end of the phone. There is a long button to control the volume, and the smaller button above it, is the mute button.

You can illuminate the touch screen by pressing the button located on the center bottom of the screen. Four icons are displayed at the bottom of the screen to indicate phone, mail, safari and iPod. these are the icons that are to be used to make phone calls, read and send emails, surf the Internet and listen to music.

On the top portion of the screen you will find a row of icons, each representing menus for different functions such as – text messaging, calendar, photo album, camera, YouTube, stock reports, maps, weather, clock, notes and settings. the additional features are you can use the phone as an alarm clock, a stop watch or even as an appointment book, camera and more.
